Do
I have to use the EZfloorplan graph paper or can I use graph paper from
another source?
Actually, you could use blank paper as long as you sketch at a proportional
scale. In order to achieve the best EZfloorplan image, you are better
off using graph paper. You can get graph paper from any office supply
store and it is best if you purchase 10x10 Cross Section Pads (10 squares/inch).
For your convenience, we provide a printable EZfloorplan graph paper
template with an easy to follow instruction sheet, which includes basic
symbols to identify major appliances.
Go to our Process
page to download the EZfloorplan graph paper in PDF file format and
store it on your computer for future use.
What is a PDF file?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is the most popular format
for file sharing, viewing and printing. EZfloorplan provides downloadable
graph paper and process details in this popular format. Viewing and
printing software is available as a free download.

page for the link.
What should I do if the property I am sketching is larger than
the EZfloorplan graph paper?
Use multiple sheets of the EZfloorplan sketch paper. Be sure
to label each sheet with the property name and indicate how the sheets
fit together. Also, please send all the sheets at the same time.
What should I do if the EZfloorplan sketch paper does not have
a symbol for an object that I want to show?
You can create your own custom symbol. Be sure to label the
symbol clearly and we will include it in your EZfloorplan.
Are EZfloorplans completely accurate?
No, EZfloorplans are graphic representations only, they are not intended
to be detailed or precise drawings and may not be relied upon by you
the client or the potential home buyer, as anything other than general
graphic representations of building configurations. They are intended
to be used only for your marketing purposes. EZfloorplans are comparable
to sample plans that you would see in home plan books that sell construction
plans and are commonly found at magazine stands. Please read our Disclaimer
for more details.
How much detail should I include in the sketch?
It is important to remember that the main purpose of EZfloorplan is
to provide a graphic layout of rooms and primary components. Trying
to show a lot of details will, not only make it harder for you to create
your sketch, but it may make your EZfloorplan hard to read and understand,
so avoid adding too many details. Your
sketch should include: property address, your name, your email
address, all walls, windows, door openings, primary room names, primary
room sizes, stairs, primary appliances, sinks, tubs, showers, toilets
and fireplaces. Items your sketch does
not need to include: doors and door swings, floor coverings,
secondary appliances (like furnaces, boilers and water heaters), decks,
patios, names and room sizes of smaller areas such as closets.
Go to our Process
page for more details.
How precise do I need to be when measuring a home?
We can transform almost any sketch into an EZfloorplan using basic information.
We offer several methods you can use and depending on which one you
choose, you do not need to be very precise to end up with a marketable
EZfloorplan. Go to Process
for more details and samples.
Do I need to create the sketch myself?
No. Using the EZfloorplan graph paper and instruction sheet is so simple
that you can have an associate or even the seller measure and draw the
sketch. The average property sketch takes less than 60 minutes.
Do I need any tools to create
a property sketch?
All you need is: Graph
paper. We recommend using some sort of graph paper so that you
can sketch at proportional scale. We provide a printable template of
EZfloorplan graph paper and a sketch instruction sheet, which includes
basic symbols. A 25' tape measure
works well, but if you include a laser tape for measuring overall room
sizes it will make measuring very easy, especially if you are measuring
by yourself (A laser tape is a valuable tool for measuring and calculating
room square footage and only cost about $30). If you are planning on
sending us your sketch via Fax, you will also need a
black ink pen. Fax machines can not scan pencil lines, so if
you created your sketch in pencil, it is important that you go over
the entire sketch with a black ink pen. We have found that using an
erasable ink pen, instead of a pencil is very effective. A
fax machine. For sending out your completed sketch to EZfloorplan
at (901) 339-2979.

What do you mean “In 48 hours
or less"?
I f we receive your sketch on a Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
or Thursday, it will be returned to you within 2 days. Sundays
and holidays are not included. If you send your sketch
on Friday you will recieve your EZfloorplan on the following Monday.
Most EZfloorplans which are recieved
on Monday thru Wednesday are returned within 24-30 hours.
My sketch will be returned in which electronic format?
You will receive a JPEG image file, which is the standard image format
for posting to a web site or using in a brochure. (You can upload and
post your EZfloorplan just like you do digital pictures) However, other
file formats are available upon request.
What
if I find an error with my EZfloorplan?
We work very hard to give you an accurate
EZfloorplan, but we realize that no one is perfect and errors and omissions
may occur, so we ask that you immediately open your EZfloorplan and
review it for accuracy. If you discover any needed adjustment, please
return it by fax or reply to the email along with an explanation and
we will quickly make any adjustments you identify and send it back to
you for your review. We will repeat this process until you are completely
satisfied. Even if you discover a needed adjustment after you paid for
your EZfloorplan, we will gladly revise it at no additional charge.
I
already have an existing floor plan, can you turn it into an EZfloorplan?
Yes we can. You will need to have the
floor plan scanned or you can take a digital picture and email the electronic
file to us, following the normal "order" process.
How
do I pay for my EZfloorplan?
You are in
complete control over your payment options and you will not have to
pay for your EZfloorplan until you are completely satisfied. After your
final review you will receive, by email, a Paypal invoice from EZfloorplan

I
understand that an EZfloorplan is a graphic image that is not intended
to be a detailed or precise drawing. Do I need to add a disclaimer to
my EZfloorplan before I use it?
Legalities
vary from state to state. Most professionals using EZfloorplans do not
feel the need to include a disclaimer, however some choose too. Here
are some examples:
- "All
room sizes are approximate and are subject to change"
- "Information
deemed reliable but not guaranteed"
- "Not intended
to be a detailed or precise drawing and may not be relied upon as
anything other than a general graphic representation"
